Students are advised to consult the German Studies staff to plan their entry point in the language sequence. Aims of the major
For a major sequence in German Studies students must complete 48 units of credit in an approved sequence of courses commencing at Introductory or Intermediate levels.
Students may substitute the two courses (12 uoc) in Studies of the Region for any of the courses required by the major provided they are approved by the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. The capstone course cannot be substituted; it must be completed at UNSW. Level 1

Students who wish to enrol in a language course without completing the necessary prerequisites are required to complete an online placement application form before the commencement of the semester.
For more information, please see the School Website. For students admitted in their first year of study to ARTS2510 or higher on the grounds of ability and/or previous study, such courses will be counted as Level 1 courses in terms of degree requirements. |
