The Minor in Writing develops students’ creative compositional capacities in the English language. It provides a survey of the history of forms of writing, and sustained practice in the rhetorics and poetics of composition. It is closely aligned with subject matter in the fields of English and Cultural Studies. It develops practical skills in writing in various genres, as well as in editing and in understanding the professional contexts in which communication through writing plays a central role. The aims of the BA Minor in Creative Writing are:
A student who wishes to gain a minor in Creative Writing must complete 36 uoc including 6 uoc at Level 1, and at least 12 uoc at each of Levels 2 and 3 including the core course ARTS2032 Creative Writing.
