Plan Outline

  • For a single major, 8 courses(48 UOC ) must be completed in addition to completion of the BEc Program Compulsory Level 1 Core Courses.

Plan Structure

Students must have completed the Compulsory Level 1 core courses. In addition, students must complete eight (8) Level 2 (ECON2XXX) and Level 3 (ECON 3XXX) courses from the Required and Elective course list below. All ECON courses are worth 6 UOC.

Minor

For minor in Econometrics, students must complete the Level 1 core requirements for the BEc program. In addition, students must complete the four (4) courses from the Required course list above other than ECON2101 and ECON2102. If one of those four courses count towards a Major, a course from the Elective course list can be taken. Regardless, students must complete one Level 3 course.

Honours

Honours level study is available for students completing the Econometrics major. The following courses, taken as electives additional to the Major, are recommended as a good preparation for Honours:
  • One of ECON3101 Markets and Public Choices; or ECON3121; or ECON3123
  • ECON3104 International Macroeconomics
Students interested in studying at Honours Level should refer to the relevant Honours plan record for entry requirements.
