Plan Outline

The following courses must be taken in order to satisfy the requirements for a major in Climate Science in the Bachelor of Science (Advanced) program. Students should also ensure that they are following the program rules for the Bachelor of Science (Advanced)/ Bachelor of Arts program.

Plan Structure

Stage 1

PLUS 6 UOC from Chemistry, Physics or Biology

Note:

PHYS1121 has a co-requisite of MATH1131 or MATH1141
Please additionally seek advice from te School of BEES or the Director of Teaching in the Climate Change Research Centre to ensure you are taking appropriate elective courses.

Stage 2

CLIM2001 Atmospheric Science (6 UOC)

PLUS at least 6 UOC from the courses listed below:

MATH2301 Mathematical Computing (6 UOC)
MATH2801 Theory of Statistics (6 UOC)
MATH2901 Higher Theory of Statistics (6 UOC)

PLUS 30 UOC of additional elective courses as agreed to with the School of BEES or the Director of Teaching in the Climate Change Research Centre.

Stage 3

ARTS2241 Climate and Energy Policy (6 UOC)
GEOS3761 Environmental Change (6 UOC)
GEOS3921 Coastal Resource Management (6 UOC)
MSCI3001 Physical Oceanography (6 UOC)

Recommended Elective:

SCIF3041 Research Internship B

Note: Where ordinary and advanced courses exits for the same course students are advised to take the advanced option.

Stage 4

CLIM4000 Climate Sci (Honours Project) (24 UOC)
