Plan Outline

These are the requirements for the Marine and Coastal Studies plan in Advanced Science.

Marine Science programs allow specialisation in selected areas of Marine Science, while still providing adequate exposure to other pertinent disciplines.

  • Level I MATH, PHYS, CHEM, PSYC or COMP courses totalling 6 UOC
  • Free electives totalling 12 UOC

Stage 2
PLUS
  • General education courses totalling 6 UOC
  • Free electives totalling 6 UOC
  • Additional science electives* totalling 6 UOC
*The following are recommended as electives:
  • SCIF2041 Research Internship A

Stage 3
PLUS
  • General education courses totalling 6 UOC
  • Free electives totalling 12 UOC
  • Additional science electives** totalling 6 UOC
**The following are recommended as electives:
  • SCIF3041 Research Internship B

Stage 4 (Honours)
Honours year totalling 48 UOC over 2 sessions
