Plan Outline


This plan is for a Neuroscience MAJOR with an advance Science program, including combined programs.

The plan introduces students to the biological and behavioural aspects of the nervous system, and is based around the neuroscience courses offered by the departments of Anatomy, Physiology and Pharmacology, and School of Psychology.

Stage 1

Note: A credit grade is required in ANAT2511 to enrol in Level 3 Anatomy courses.

Stage 3
PLUS 12 UOC of Level III Psychology courses with one course selected from Advanced Perceptual/Cognitive:

PLUS an additional 6 UOC course at Level II or III. This course might be chosen from those offered by the School in which Honours study is contemplated. In the case of Psychology, this course must be:

Stage 4
Subject to satisfactory progress throughout the course (normally a credit average), students may proceed to the Honours Stage. Before the commencement of Stage 2 students should consult with the appropriate schools and the Neuroscience program coordinating committee consisting of representatives from the Departments of Anatomy, Physiology and Pharmacology and School of Psychology, about the courses required for a particular Honours program.
