This plan is for students in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences wishing to undertake Honours study in Human Resource Management

Plan Structure

Students must complete requirements for a major in Human Resource Management

Honours Required Prior to Year 4

Students must have completed as part of their degree requirements:
MGMT3708 is a compulsory prerequisite for Year 4 Honours and should normally be taken in the session preceding the Honours year.

Honours Level
Students must complete a thesis of 20,000 words, an Honours Seminar in both sessions, and two approved MGMT courses, one per sesion. Students undertaking Honours in Human Resource Management should enrol in one of the following courses in each session

Entry Requirements

To progress to Year 4 Honours in Human Resource Management a student must:
  1. Complete the specified number of Human Resource Management Required and Options courses;
  2. Pass all these courses and obtain average grades of 71% or better in these courses;
  3. Obtain the permission of the Honours Coordinator for the School of Organisation and Management to undertake the Honours year;
  4. Include MGMT3708 Research Methods in Employment and Management in the specified number of Human Resource Management Required and Option Courses. This course is designed to provide the necessary research techniques for thesis investigation and writing, and to ensure that students have determined many aspects of their proposed thesis before entering into fourth year.
