Plan Outline

This plan is for a Major in Economics within programs offered by the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.

Plan Structure

The School of Economics offers two levels of study for a Major in Economics within the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.

The Major Sequence Professional Level offers the opportunity for students to obtain a professional degree suitable for a career in Economics, business or the public sector.

The Major Sequence in Economics is similar, but requires less specialisation in Economics courses.

Major Sequence in Economics
For a major sequence in Economics, all students must complete at least 42 units of credit in Economics courses.

and three options from the following list

  • ECON2107 Labour Income and Growth in the Global Economy (6UOC)
  • ECON2109 Economics of Corporations (6UOC)
  • ECON2305 Modern Asian Economic History (6UOC)
Note: Not all options are available every year

Major Sequence Professional Level in Economics
For a major sequence in Economics at the professional level, all students must complete at least 42 units of credit in Economics
