Plan Outline

This honours program forms part of the degree program for the
  • Bachelor of Commerce (Stage 4);
  • Bachelor of Science in Information Systems (Stage 4);
  • Bachelor of Science (Business Information Technology Co-op Program); and the
  • Bachelor of Commerce (Information Systems and Management Co-op Program)
The Information Systems Honours Program is an appropriate preparation for a career in industry, offering more advanced level coursework, and the chance to develop individual skills working independently on the research and thesis. The program provides a broad exposure to advanced areas in Information Systems and Information Technology, as well as a high degree of specialization in these disciplines. The Honours Program is also designed as a preparation for PhD research in Information Systems and Information Technology. Students successfully completing this program will be in an excellent position to continue to research in Information Systems and Information Technology at any university.

Entry Requirements

In order to be accepted into the Honours program, candidates must have completed a major in Information Systems (or an approved equivalent degree). Normally, the candidate must have attained a minimum 70% average in Information Systems courses and should not have failed any courses throughout their undergraduate degree.
