Plan Outline

This plan is for students enrolled in Environmental Science, undertaking a disciplinary specialisation in Oceanography. Students choose a disciplinary specialisation in combination with the core component of the Environmental Science degree. See the 3988 Program Structure for core courses, to be taken in addition to the courses listed below.

Plan Structure

In order to complete a disciplinary specialisation in Oceanography, students must successfully complete the following courses (Students may take more advanced versions of courses where they exist):

Level 1 courses:

Note: Oceanography students take MATH1231 instead of MATH1041

Level 2 courses:

MATH2011 Several Variable Calculus (6 UOC)
MATH2120 Math Methods for Diff Eqns (3 UOC)
MATH2240 Intro to Oceanog & Meteorology (3 UOC)
MATH2841 Statistics SS (6 UOC)
PHYS2810 Atmospheric Physics (3 UOC)

Level 3 courses:

MATH2301 Mathematical Computing (6 UOC)
MATH3121 Partial Differential Equations (6 UOC)
MATH3241 Fluid Dynamics (6 UOC)
MATH3261 Fluids, Oceans & Climate (6 UOC)
