Plan Summary
The Bachelor of Social Science in Criminology has a research and policy analysis orientation. It builds on the core curriculum in the Bachelor of Social Science, which provides solid training in quantitative and qualitative research methods, social and economic theory, and policy analysis. The Criminology core courses provide students with substantive knowledge about criminal law and procedures, criminal justice institutions, theoretical debates in criminology and issues in criminal justice research and policy. A range of elective courses on criminological topics are available from the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and the Faculty of Law.
The core program consists of courses totalling 96 units of credit made up of 48 units of credit in core Social Science and Policy courses, 24 units of credit in core Criminology courses and 24 units of credit in approved Criminology-related elective courses.
