Plan Outline

Courses in Computer Science are provided by the School of Computer Science and Engineering.

Entry to these courses will depend on a student's performance in Year 1 and enrolment is subject to the consent of the CSE Undergraduate Coordinator.

Plan Structure

A major sequence in Computing within the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences consists of 42 units of credit as follows:
  • at least 18 units of credit at Level III
Notes:

1. No more than 12 Level 1 units of credit in Computing can be counted toward the major sequence in Computing.

2. Students with well developed IT skills may enrol in COMP1091 and omit COMP1081. These students will need to successfully complete an additional Upper Level Computer Science course to bring the total for the major to 42 UOC.

3. Alternatively, well qualified students may replace COMP1081 and COMP1091 by COMP1711 and COMP1721.

4. Recommended electives include: COMP3311, COMP3411, COMP3511.

5. Also recommended: MATH1131, MATH1081.
