Plan Outline

The School teaches undergraduate and postgraduate programs in media production and its contexts, film aesthetics and history, the analysis and history of drama and theatrical performance, and dance education.
The School is housed in the Sir Robert Webster Building and employs sophisticated production, post-production digitally-equipped laboratories, excellent rehearsal spaces and theatres, as well as modern teaching spaces.

Plan Structure

The major in Film/Theatre and Performance Studies consists of 60 units of credit, including:
6 or 12 units of credit at Level 1

FILM1101 Introduction to Film (6 UOC)
FILM1105 Working with Image & Sound (6 UOC)
THFI1002 Reading Performance (6 UOC)
THST1101 Intro to Theatre & Performance (6 UOC)

and at Level 2

THST2202 Critical Perspectives (6 UOC)

and at least 12 units of credit from:

FILM2001 Contemp. Approaches to Cinema (6 UOC)
FILM2002 Australian Cinema & Television (6 UOC)
FILM2007 Movie World: National Cinemas (6 UOC)
FILM2021 The Hollywood System (6 UOC)

and at Level 3, at least 12 units of credit from:

FILM3001 Video Exercise (6 UOC)
FILM3002 Aspects of Film History (6 UOC)
FILM3003 Explorations in Film Theory (6 UOC)
FILM3004 Film Genres & Styles (6 UOC)
FILM3006 Cinemas & Cultures (6 UOC)

and at least 18 units of credit from Upper Level courses with a PFST, THFI or THST prefix.
