Plan Outline

Russian Studies offers a range of courses designed to develop an informed study of Russia and the former Soviet Union through the study of Russian language, literature, civilisation and history. Russian language courses cater both for complete beginners and also for advanced or native speakers.

Plan Structure

For a major sequence in Russian Studies students must complete 42 units of credit in Russian Studies courses including 12 units of credit or more from the language core; the completion of RUSS2112 or higher; at least 18 units of credit in Upper Level electives.

Students are advised to consult with the Russian Studies staff to plan their program.

Honours

Honours level study is available in Russian Studies. Students interested in Honours should refer to the Honours plan record for entry requirements.

Placement Test

Students with any proficiency in Russian must consult the staff in Russian Studies prior to enrolment, unless they have taken Russian at UNSW in the previous session. Please see: http://languages.arts.unsw.edu.au/main/placetest.html
