Plan Outline

This plan is for students who wish to undertake a Major sequence in Geology.Geology is the study of the nature and evolution of our Earth. It spans many areas, including the relationship between humans and the physical environment.

Plan Structure

To satisfy the requirements for a Major sequence in Geology, students must complete the following courses:

Level 1 Courses

GEOS1111 Fundamentals of Geology (6 UOC)
GEOS1211 Environmental Earth Science (6 UOC)

Level 2 Courses

BEES2041 Data Anal for Life & Earth Sc (6 UOC)
GEOS2171 Earth Structures (6 UOC)
GEOS2181 Earth Materials (6 UOC)
GEOS2291 Ground and Surface Water (6 UOC)

Level 3 Courses

GEOS3131 Field Mtds & Mapping (6 UOC)
GEOS3141 Mineral and Energy Resources (6 UOC)

Plus another 12 UOC from Level 3 GEOS courses (i.e. those with the prefix GEOS3) and/or the course:

MSCI6300 Coastal Environment Assessment (6 UOC)
