Description

This course will provide students with a range of strategies and skills to prepare them for working as artists and/or culture makers. Professional Practice will equip students with the skills and knowledge to understand the complex terrain within which art practice operates and situate their own work within it. The course will address the following topics; Practice, Communication, Collaboration, Marketing, Artist Led Practice, Institutions, Ethics and Money.
The course will be divided up into four projects that include: presenting an artist statement; grant writing; group problem solving and presentations; and professional engagement with cultural events.
