Description

In this capstone studio, students are called upon to employ all the knowledge, skill and ability they have gained in previous years. Students engage at an advanced level with issues of contemporary urbanism, such as social equity, urban ecology, green infrastructure, and landscape performance. The studio demands a high degree of self-directed learning, and an ability to speculate, test and resolve design propositions across many scales, and to integrate theoretical concepts effectively into the design process. Students typically develop their own design projects based on a proposal initiated in LAND2401 and LAND2421. The final submission requires a complete design proposition: a design proposal supported by theoretical and site based justification, conceptual design, models, design detail and a brief design report.
