Description

This studio concentrates on two major elements of landscape architectural design: landform and planting. Design projects engage typically with urban parks to explore the relationships between topography, planting structure, natural systems, and human activity. Student extend their vocabulary of landform and planting elements and develop the design skills and techniques for manipulating these. The design strategies focus on the use of landform and planting as the means for shaping and articulating urban parks as places for inhabitation, ritual and movement at multiple scales. The studio integrates digital modelling to explore, test and communicate design ideas.
