Description

Students explore modes of visual representation used by designers to develop and communicate design ideas including: diagram, sketch, model, orthographic drawings, and montage. Technical skills required for each mode of communication are introduced; these include freehand drawing, sketching, model construction, drafting, rendering, and photomontage. Students also develop the ability to communicate design verbally by engaging in presentations, peer review, feedback sessions, and small group discussions. LAND1141 supports the design skills developed concurrently in LAND2101 Design Fundamentals, and all subsequent courses.
