Description

This course deals with implications of technological advances on current and future state of financial industry. It introduces computational finance and banking technology using the open source programming language of python in the context of finance theory and applications. The intention is to trigger a disruptive and innovative thinking process and to enforce the notion that recent structural changes across the financial industry provide spectrum of valuable internal and external opportunities. Case studies to be explored include digital currency (Bitcoin), settlement (Blockchain), credit assessments, hedging, trading, and financial advisory.
