Description

An introduction to structural appreciation and forces that operate on building structures. This course is an important foundation to the technologies of construction. Structural performance is critical in all aspects of the design, construction and maintenance of a building, hence making this course relevant across the program. Case studies are used to illustrate how structures of various types support vertical and lateral loads, with particular emphasis on studies of structural failures.
