This course, together with MMAN4020 Thesis B, which is to be taken in the following semester, requires each student to demonstrate managerial, technical and professional skills in planning and executing an approved engineering project within a stipulated time limit. Each student is also required to report on their project work at a thesis conference. Each student is guided by a supervisor, but successfully planning, executing and reporting on the project is the sole responsibility of each student. Thesis A requires the submission of a thesis progress report, and a presentation to the supervisor.

Students should have passed 132 units at the time they commence this course.

Consultation should be arranged to allow both student and supervisor to regularly monitor the progress of the project.
