Printmaking: Serigraphic Tech & Experimentation - SART2407
Description
SART2407 Serigraphic Printmaking: Technology and Experimentation will offer studio-based instruction involving lecture, class discussion and practical demonstration in screenprinting techniques to create images using hand drawn, photo-generated and colour separation methods. You will be encouraged to experiment with printing strategies onto various papers and other substrates that could work independently or in combination with digital, photographic or lithographic methods. You will be assessed relative to the creation of 2 set projects that investigate core thematic and technical issues relevant to current art in print. With this knowledge you will then apply research skills in a synthesis of these contemporary trends in printmaking and broader art concepts, with a developing understanding of your own creative practice, in the production of a self-directed practical project. This 2nd year introductory studio course contributes to one of two, four-course specialist Printmaking 'streams' and offers preparation for advanced study in 3rd year and may also be taken as an elective where places are available.
