Description
The main objectives of this course are:
- to provide for the completion of an integrated and comprehensive education in the discipline of psychology;
- to provide students with an understanding of the history of psychology as a scientific discipline;
- to permit advanced level study in a range of areas;
- to deepen understanding of the principles of ethical issues in professional practice and to provide students with an understanding and familiarity with the APS Code of Ethics and other legislation pertaining to the practice of professional psychology;
- to provide students with an understanding of the theoretical and empirical bases underpinning evidence-based approaches to psychological intervention; and
- to build foundational knowledge and skills in interviewing and counseling.
