Description

The Cross-Media Futures Studio offers you the opportunity to work with renowned international and national artists who will bring their ideas and practices to the Faculty of Art & Design. In this intensive studio you will actively engage with contemporary questions of the future of art practice in relationship to a wide range of technological and other topical considerations. The invited artist will work with you to materialise concepts that explore speculative propositions and test new ideas.

While the specific topic of the studio will be programed annually in consultation with the invited artist, the course will allow you to explore creative concepts, ideas and strategies in relation to emerging and future media against the backdrop of rapidly changing global contexts. This will span the development of future scenarios, questions of speed and accessibility, look-backs into media art history as well as investigating contemporary contexts for possible futures.
