Description

This course theoretically explores Indigenous objects and designs and their influence on contemporary Australia. Topics covered include historical and contemporary object and design practice, the use of Indigenous design and symbology in advertising, intellectual property, cultural ownership, appropriation, corporate branding, spatial design, interiors and relations between art and design. A range of perspectives informed by contemporary practice and cultural conceptions of the designed object may be presented by guest speakers who are at the forefront of their practice or area of expertise.
