Living Architecture: Green Roofs + Green Walls - BENV2930
Description
This course will introduce students and practitioners to issues related to planning, design and implementation of green roofs and green walls in urban environments. It will also deal with the related issues of high density living, design of urban infill, and the relationship between the built form, urban site, city context and the integration of constructed vegetated open space, for both contemporary and future uses. The course spans from feasibility, planning and urban design issues to construction and planting issues. It uses the city built environment as a laboratory for developing design skills and knowledge in a holistic sense, including the design of technical and natural systems.
