Description

Subject Area: Development Studies

What is the future of international development? This course analyses four significant global trends affecting the policy, principles and practices of international development: emerging economies and the shifting geography of poverty; pressures on the principles and practices of humanitarian action; the development implications of climate change; and the role of the private sector in development. Focusing on both continuities and changes in international development, the course investigates the historical origins of contemporary policy debates in light of the most recent research, evidence and practice.
