Description
SDES1002 Design Gateway 2: Design Communication focuses on the importance of visual literacy in integrated design systems. Students will explore design language and communication using design research and inquiry to complete a series of practical projects. This involves physical and virtual investigations into sensory interaction, contextual mapping and the manipulation of ideas, materials and techniques to produce work in response to behavioural, environmental and spatial considerations, also taking into account factors such as sustainability and ethics.
This course will assist students in selecting studio areas for further study. SDES1001 and SDES1002 are complementary courses and may be completed in any order.
