Topics include the following: Plane kinematics and kinetics of rigid bodies; equations of motion, work and energy, impulse and momentum; Introduction to mechanical vibration; Free and forced responses of single degree-of-freedom spring-mass-damper systems, vibration isolation; Harmonic analysis; Vibration measuring instruments; Linear vibrations of multi-degree-of-freedom systems; Analysis of continuous systems, wave equation, transverse vibration of strings, longitudinal/torsional vibration of bars and rods; Gear kinematics, involute profile and involute action; Gear trains, epicyclic gears.
