Description

This course is required by students undertaking BCom(Hons) program in Human Resource Management (HRM) in the School of Management, and other research students according to their program requirements. Generally, students have completed a major in HRM in their Pass degree. Building on this foundation, this course aims to extend and deepen the understanding of different theoretical approaches and frameworks in HRM research in its interdisciplinary social science and management context (often drawn, for example, from organisational behaviour, strategy, organisational, and relevant economic theories). Students will review and critically discuss major theories, developments and debates in theory and associated research.

The course provides in-depth and structured exposure and comprehensive coverage of various HRM and management theories and data analysis. This course will prepare students to undertake the honours thesis in HRM. The course seeks to develop extended professional knowledge to be used in future research, consulting and teaching.
