Description

The course provides the foundations for understanding how financial data are captured by accounting systems and basic tools of financial analysis. Both corporate and government accounting systems are considered, which, together with a presentation of essential accounting concepts, provide a valuable foundation for work in economics as well as general business. Topics covered include financial statements and their elements, records of transaction processing, cash versus accrual accounting, national income and balance of payments accounts. Tools covered in the integrating core are applied.
