Description

This course introduces key concepts in human geography: place, identity, culture and urbanisation. To address these concepts, we draw on national and local examples to ask questions about: place, e.g. ‘where do we live, and why?’; identity, ‘who are Australians?’; culture, ‘how do our diverse backgrounds shape Australian culture?’; and, urbanisation, ‘Is Sydney a global city?’. In exploring these questions, a mix of field based experience, small group discussions, lectures and media is used.
