Description
This is a hybrid course. It is available to both undergraduate and postgraduate students. The course content, delivery and assessment will be identical for both groups of students. |
This course aims to introduce students to some of the basic concepts, skills, and issues in music education. Focus will be given to early stages of high school, but primary school syllabuses and learning environments will also be studied as a means to understanding various student learning needs and how to meet them. Students will be introduced to the processes of planning individual lessons, teaching a range of skills, using information and communication technology (ICT) and assessing student learning. Learning will be contextualised in knowledge about the nature of music and music education in Australia.
