Is concerned with the role of different change agents in the practice of social development. Introduces students to a range of principles like those with community-focussed development, human rights and conflict resolution and their relevance for the practice of development. Examines the pivotal role that key stakeholders play in the development process. Introduces the range of problems experienced by the different players in the development process and the influence on development outcomes.
