Description

Inviscid conservation relations. Potential Flow. Airfoil formation and Kutta condition. Incompressible flows around thin airfoils and wings with finite span. Introduction to wind tunnel, instrumentation and testing. One-dimensional gas flows. Compressible potential flow. Thermodynamic and sonic speed relation, Mach number, isentropic relationships. Prandtl-Myer flow, normal and oblique shock waves. Method of characteristics. Small perturbation theory. Viscous flow. Methods of calculating viscous drag.
