Description Focuses on practical applications relating to the theory of financial decision making. Case studies, empirical evidence and current issues in the financial media are used to illustrate key decisions made by managers of the firm. Topics include advanced capital budgeting issues, capital raising including venture capital and initial public offerings, mergers and acquisitions and advanced capital structure and dividend policy issues. One of the aims is to develop students' ability to make judgments in a realistic setting and to develop the capacity to articulate judgments both orally and in writing.
