Description

This is a hybrid course. It is available to both undergraduate and postgraduate students. The course content, delivery and assessment will be identical for both groups of students.

This course prepares pre-service teachers for engagement with the issues, policies and practice related to the teacher as a professional, and the concomitant ethical ramifications. It focuses on the role of the teacher in schooling, and the development of professional identity, ethics and practice; relationships with the variety of related stakeholders and communities; and, critical examination of Government and education systems’ policies, including those related to accountability, professional standards and development, and social justice.
