Description

The course will consider important theoretical ideas across the humanities and social science disciplines. It is open to all FASS Honours candidates. Concept selection has been based on queries raised by previous Honours candidates. Topics that may be included: culture and its contradictions; tradition; culture high and low; avant-garde; post-modernism; self and other; orientalism; myth; public sphere; cultural capital; literacy; imagined communities; nation.
