Subject Area: Hispanic Studies

This course examines key issues in Spanish and Latin American culture through literary texts and films based on them. The works studied address topics such as the construction of gender and sexuality; “magical feminism”; political violence in Spain and Latin America. Emphasis will be placed on the study of novels and films within the cultural and social contexts of their production.
