Description

Subject Area: German Studies

Advanced German A is an advanced level German language course for students with some proficiency in German, equivalent to four semesters of German language learning. It serves as the Third Year/First Semester course in the introductory sequence and as the Second Year/First Semester course in the intermediate sequence. It is also available to General Education or Elective students with equivalent knowledge of Intermediate German B. It consolidates and extends skills in listening to, speaking, reading and writing German, with a distinct focus on Landeskunde. The cultural, historical and social topics selected for the course vary from year to year. Reviews of grammar and writing skills are conducted as the need arises.
