Description The course is aimed at developing skills on how to design and build a robot from scratch. Half of the course is lecture-based and deal with the following contents: Introduction to robot design. Mechanisms and dynamics of wheeled and legged robots. Mechanical design of wheeled and legged robots. Calculation of torques and selection of motors. Selection of sensors. Integration of mechatronic systems. Motion planning and control. Design of a robot using CAD. Simulation of a robot using MATLAB/C/C++. In the other half, students will design and build an actual robot using knowledge and skills acquired in the lecture.
