Description

Introduction to crystallography, crystal structure, Bravais lattices, Miller indices, Miller-Bravais indices. Origin of X-rays. Production, absorption of X-rays. Theory of diffraction of X-rays. Powder and single crystal X-ray methods. Applications of X-ray diffraction to various problems in materials science.
