Pure Mathematics Honours(Full Time) - MATH4603 | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Description Undergraduate thesis together with advanced lectures on topics chosen from the fields of current interest in Pure Mathematics. May also include advanced lectures given by other Departments or Schools.
Note: To enter Pure Mathematics Level IV, students must have completed a MATH major in the Science program, including at least 30 units of credit in Level III Mathematics and/or Statistics, or have completed Stage 3 of the Pure Mathematics plan in the Advanced Science or Advanced Mathematics program. In addition, students must have permission from the Head of the Pure Mathematics Department. Students will normally be required to have a credit average in their Level III Mathematics and Statistics courses and to have shown some evidence of the ability to undertake independent study. In special cases other courses may be substituted for the Mathematics and Statistics courses. Intending Honours students should discuss their selection of Level III courses with the Head of the Pure Mathematics Department before starting stage 3. Students must complete 48 units of credit of Honours Mathematics and/or Statistics in order to be awarded an Honours degree. |
