Examines questions of belonging by looking at migration, refugees and citizenship. Looks at the emergence of global culture through a study of the emergence of global and multicultural cities, new patterns of consumption for pleasure, and the role of media and communications in globalisation. Explores the issues of global governance and examines the cultural and political responses to globalisation in anti-globalisation movements, fundamentalism and economic strategies.
