Description This course provides an in-depth introduction to different theories of underdevelopment and the associated strategies for fostering development, with emphasis on more recent perspectives. It investigates the role of institutions, institutional change, and markets as they relate to development, and discusses accompanying domestic and international economic policy questions. Much of the material is near the interface between economics and the other social sciences.
