Subject Area: Japanese Studies
This course provides students with activities to reflect on what they have learned in the coursework required for the Japanese Studies major. Students are expected to demonstrate their knowledge and skills via oral presentations and in writing that will be collected into an ePortfolio that can serve as supplementary documentation for potential employers or further academic study. The topics of the course will be based on general topics drawn from the Japanese communication and contextual courses. Some examples include: sociolinguistic and/or sociocultural issues in contemporary Japan, media and popular culture in Japan, Japan in relation to other Asian countries, literature, business and industry, historical events and figures.
