Description This course provides a hands-on introduction to Computational Fluid Dynamics using Matlab and a variety of commercial CFD codes such as Fluent, CFX, or Flowizard. Treatment of different flow regimes such as incompressible/compressible, steady/unsteady, laminar/turbulent is examined. Numerical techniques such as panel methods, finite difference and finite volume methods are developed. Numerical error, stability, convergence, and automatic and manual grid generation strategies are examined in the application of CFD to engineering problems.
