Description The aim of this course is to introduce and develop understandings about patterns of interaction between design processes and natural and manufactured systems. The relationship between nature, human society, ethical values and design are examined in the context of pressures on resources and the implications for the quality of life. The course will refer to ecology, ethics, value systems, social systems, political systems and legal systems so that students understand some of the dynamics of the social and environmental contexts for design as well as the foundations of responsible design practice.
