Description

Subject Area: Indonesian Studies

'Intermediate Indonesian' is a full year subject, divided into two semesters ('Intermediate Indonesian A' and 'Intermediate Indonesian B'), designed for students who have completed either an Introductory Indonesian course at university (eg. Introductory Indonesian A and B at UNSW), or a Indonesian course at High School (eg. HSC 2 or 3 Unit Indonesian), or who have an equivalent level of knowledge of the language. It consists of a Language Seminar of four class contact hours, plus two hours independent online study. Assessment is continuous and weighted to reflect all language skills, including knowledge of grammar and vocabulary, oral presentation, written assignments, and class participation.

Topics of reading texts relate to exemplary issues in modern Indonesian culture (19th and 20th centuries).
